About

‘Buko’s World’ is an on-going project which explores the use of traditional illustration with immersive technologies. Sophie wanted to design a fully functioning world of organisms, monkeys and habitats which an audience could experience tangibly. This led her to create a virtual reality world which she will continue developing. The main character is a baby monkey called Buko which the viewer will follow through the world. The world is made up of an underground cave system full of organisms and a barren above ground landscape. A mutualistic relationship has developed between the monkeys and an organism called the ‘parasite’.
